The document I’m looking for can’t be found in the UPHF libraries? The interlibrary loan service (ILL) gives you access to books, theses, papers, etc., from other libraries in France and abroad (service with charges).
Remember to check that your libraries don’t own the document by searching:
- The libraries catalogue.
- The online databases for articles.
Terms of use
To use the ILL service, you must be registered in the library.
This service is not free (participation in postal charges). Payment by cash with no change given. The charges below apply when a reciprocal agreement exists between the BU UPHF and the library providing the document. In the absence of an agreement, the charges applied to the user are those requested by the supplying library, to which is added, where applicable, the returns cost of the document.
Charges
You are a student of the UPHF (bachelor or master), INSPE Lille Nord-de-France, IFMS
The prices are as follows:
- Loan (book, thesis) from France: €2.
- Photocopy (excerpt from a book or journal article) from France: free.
- Borrowing or photocopying a document from abroad: cost price.
You are a PhD student, teacher or researcher attached to a laboratory of the UPHF, ATER, BIATSS UPHF, external user but registered at the library or registered at the University of Lille and preparing for the CAPES / the admission
The prices are as follows:
- Loan (book, thesis) from France: €4.
- Photocopy (excerpt from a book or journal article) from France: free.
- Borrowing or photocopying a document from abroad: cost price.
For members of laboratories, an annual billing of the laboratories is possible.
You are a member of a private organization
- Loan (book, thesis) from France: €16.
- Photocopy (excerpt from a book or journal article) from France: €16.
- Borrowing a document from abroad: €36 or cost price if more than €36.
- Photocopying a document from abroad: €16.
How do you request a document from the ILL?
You have 3 options:
- Submit an ILL request online from your account, in the "Situation" section.
- Fill out a form available at the ILL office or ask a librarian.
- By mail at peb@uphf.fr.
Frequently asked questions
When will I receive my document? Delivery times can vary from 1 to 3 weeks depending on the complexity of request and shipping time.

In what form will I receive my document? The lending library may choose to send the document itself, or, instead, photocopies.

How do I know that my document has arrived? Upon arrival of the document, you will be notified by email or phone call.

How long can I borrow the document? The library may allow on site use of the document or a loan for 2 up to 4 weeks.

What if I need a renewal? Inform us before the return deadline, and with the agreement of the lending library, your loan will be extended for another 1 to 4 weeks.

What if I’m late returning the document? Your loans from the UPHF libraries may be suspended for a while.
